what to say...

Well, here we go!! Trying my hand at blogging again! My sister got me hooked several years back. It's interesting to see how much this type of keeping up with your family and friends has caught on around the world (and our little community :) ).
I am glad that the summer is at and end because this means I get to actually have a clean house(when I say clean, I mean one that is spotless for more than an hour or two). We had such a great summer ,-aside from the sibling rivalry, the kids got a new toy from a really nice friend-we offered to pay, but he refused.
We stayed in Jesup(southern Georgia) for 10 days spending time with my dad and all his brothers and their families, hulling purple hull and zipper peas, catching lizards (one of my faves!), fishin', going to my class reunion, going to Jekyll island and enjoying the peace and quiet on 216 acres of land and letting the kids sit in our laps and drive. They loooved driving the truck with my dad. It was a great opportunity for the kids to see what it's like to be in the country> All the Uncleas and my dad have a community garden and spend several hours a week on it and they have meals with eachother often or sit on the porch watching the sun go down after a long days work. It is my favorite time of year...the 4th of July. It has always been around that time we go there for our Family Reunions.
Family is the most important thing on earth and I am glad that I am able to have the family that I do, even if they drive me nuts at times. It's like they say "Friends may come and friends may go, but family always stays."

I am so glad you started a blog, so much easier for me to check. So you liked the polka dot template too, huh? Great minds think alike, but I have to admit I'm glad you chose the other color. :)

I just noticed you guys shelling peas on the porch...sigh...I loved doing that with my Granny. It's nice to see family doing that. I miss those moments.

Love the new blog. Sorry I missed the Southern Living thing. I really wanted to come. Today was so chaotic, it wasn't funny. Mayeb next time.

I love doing stuff like that with family. I miss having family close by. I am so grateful though that Shawn and I moved out here where values like that are still around. One of my kids' favorite things to do is go outback and pick tomatoes from Shawn's crop!
