The Hillbillies have returned!

After 9 hrs. in the car on a what should have been 5-6 hr. drive, with a puking child (she threw up 7-8 times) and sore rumps, we are finally home! Woo-hoo!
The first time our Bri threw up we stopped in front of a few homes and a nice man came out of his house to see if we were broke down and when I explained to him what had happened he wished us luck and went back to his house. After that, another man stopped in his truck to see if we needed any help too, we cleaned our poor kid up and just before leaving, the first man to see if we needed help, came out with a 6 pack of Coke for our little family and talked with Tyson for a minute and wished us a safe trip. He reminded me of my Dad and Uncles (made me miss Jesup). We made sure that after we got our lunch we included those 2 men in our prayers. The kids kept talking about the "nice man" that gave us drinks (poor Bria couldn't drink them, every time something touched her tummy,it came back up!) and how they hope heavenly Father watches over them.
Our trip to the Smokies turned out to be AWESOME(besides the fact that we were greasy and stinky from no showers)! We went tubin' down the river, ate yummy dutch oven cookin' (Tyson loved cooking in his new toy!), walked in Gatlinburg, went on a neat little nature hike (a bit more than a mile--kids couldn't handle the bigger and better hikes--not sure if I could either, I still felt a little sick :)), listening to the coyotes that encircled our little camp site and Tyson and I actually seeing one of them( it was about 6 ft. from our tent--and boy are they small(they still could probably do some damage, but they pale in comparison to Misha!) on our way back from sitting around the campfire with our friends while kids were asleep, and driving through the Cherokee Indian Reservation.
Heath hardly slept...he was hard to get down at night and whoever thought of putting a doggy door in a family sized tent should be smacked down, he would sneak out of that any chance he got. Luckily there are 2 zippers and next time we are going to put a lock on it!
The other kids kept pretty warm in their flannel sleeping bags and cuddled through out the night. It cooled down pretty good at night--I even snuggled with Tys to keep warm and I am not much of a snuggler :). Poor Alyssa looks eaten up from some bug, but she's a trooper(minus the fact she was so overly tired and cried about how she didn't want anyone to see her bumps and talk about them). They all enjoyed having friends to hang out with while we adults did our cooking, cleaning the campsite so Bears would keep their distance and enjoying our chats around the fire!
On our way home we found many more things to add to our little list of adventures to take! We saw a neat white water rafting place that the Olympics had used (the Ocoee River), a hang gliding place, an indoor sky diving facility in Pigeon Forge, and a place to camp on an Island (the only problem with that is, we need a boat :). So, now that we have all of our camping gear and the kids are older, we can go on these neat outings--except the white water--kids aren't old enough yet(oh well, a great weekend trip for the adults!).
Well I guess I have been long winded enough and I will blog another day. There are still so many things left to do. Tyson and I put most everything away last night, but the van needs to be vacuumed, dishes washed, and laundry--the never ending chore--I actually don't mind the switching out and folding, but I wish it could actually have an end! So ta-ta for now!

I hate laundry almost as much as I hate pottytraining (see blog). BUt at least potty training (hopefully) has an end. You rtrip looks awesome!! I love camping. Shawn enjoys it too, but we still need to stock up on camp supplies. I miss Dutch Oven cooking. I think we need the tents first though! Sorry to hear about the trip home. Hope everyone recovers quickly.

We understand the puking children. We actually have two who get car sick and that is not fun! In these many instances we have squirt bottles and fans so they can be cooled off and open windows can blow air over their faces and keep them cool. Hopefully Ty and Amanda will outgrow this unfun part of traveling. It kind of runs on my side of the family. Memories are made in the spending of time together and all the mishaps helps us never to forget the good and the bad. Thank you for keeping in touch.
