Has it already been a full 9 years since the birth of my firstborn? I was out with a friend taking my sister to the doctor when I went into labor(I had asked her what contractions felt like-freaked her out when she realized what was going on) and we had planned on going to Pizza Hut and I was still determined to go to Pizza Hut(I love that place) come heck or high water! And sure enough we did. Then I went to my doctor's appt. with my hubby (that was the appt. to talk abt. inducing me) and they said to come in around 9 p.m. to the hospital and we'd go from there. I was also able to get a card game in with my brother and his wife before we went and I would breathe through the 5 minute apart contractions in between my turns! Though I can't tell ya who won! :) Let me just say it was a ~S L O W~ labor!!! 24 hrs. of labor and 1 hr. of pushing later we had our beautiful 8 lb. 10 oz. baby boy and man did he have a BIG head, the doctor was even amazed that came outta me! I wish I could say there was much excitement(perhaps for some), but quite frankly I was soooooo out of it! Or rather I was high off Nubain(which doesn't kill the pain, but it makes you a bit more uncaring of the ordeal and I usually prefer not to have anything at all, it makes things quicker for me~and I know what is going on).
Here's a word of advice to all you wanna be labor and delivery nurses...You NEVER ask a woman in labor who is already pumped up with Nubain and still able to feel all the pain if she wants more Nubain, of COURSE she is going to say "YES!" I said yes at least 2-3 times throughout the night and I was so off the ground on drugs that during my labor I told Tyson I was mad at him for making me miss my bus (I had been out of High school for not even 2 years, cut me some slack, it took me 12 years for that routine and I am finally not having dreams about missing the bus, yes I am THAT anal about being late, or used to be). Then when he took me to the bathroom I couldn't even grab hold of the toilet paper in front of my eyes because I swore I couldn't find it and then the best is when Tyson told me where it was and I said "I'll e-mail him later!" ha ha ha! Wouldn't you just love to see me on that stuff! Quite personally, I would think it a hoot, well as long as I was the one watching, not partaking! LOL
After all was said and done and I was normalized, I was able to enjoy my little boy and I absolutely adored him from his Charlie Brown head to his small kissable toes and i remember counting his fingers and toes and kissing his beautiful lips and thinking how can such a special spirit be given to a wretch like me who is bound to mess him up! :)
He has been our first for many things. He has definitely left his mark in our hearts and our memories!
Thank you Chaddy for being a great kid (could ya probably work on the temper a bit more, kind of in exchange for all the kudos I am givin' ya)! You know we love you and wish you a happy 9th B-day!
