Journey to Self Discovery

Growing up I have always been intrigued by actors, actresses, singers and models. Their lives look so fun and grand, who wouldn't want that life, right?! Modeling is something I had tried several times to get into. There were a few times a couple of agencies wanted me to do either another interview or prepare to sign and travel, but it never went smoothly and things just didn't work out. I even was accepted to try out for Miss. Teen Minnesota(they do a filtering process by reviewing pictures and essays, at least they did. Not sure if they still do.)..that was cool, but things happened in my family life that prevented me from living there much longer.

This isn't something I talk about much, but I ran across these pictures and wanted to journal this. About one of the roads to self discovery that I have ventured on. I got a modeling portfolio done shortly after I had Bria. I LOVED that I was going to get into what I have always wanted to do, a fun career and something I could look back on and be glad I did it. After several months of preparing things doing the 3 different shoots, meeting new people and finding out more about myself in this journey I realized that this is a world that I really didn't desire as much as I had thought. My family is more important and the people there were focused on worldly things that do not bring satisfaction and there are a lot of vain and snooty people in this line of business. I didn't want to be around something of this nature that could pollute my character and take me away from what is important...having a family, having children. I also didn't appreciate people looking down on me because I had more than 2 kids. So, I left it and have tried to find other things that bring me joy and allow my creative side to come out! I see through Hollywood and all the things that I once thought was glamorous. I now realize that it all comes at a cost I am not willing to pay and things I will never sacrifice. I will always be grateful for this experience because it has shown me who I am, who I want to become and what my path in life should be. This is a life lesson that I shall always remember.

You would make a great model but I'm glad your family is more important. You're a great model to your children.
