The Chadanator is 10!
Chad was dubbed "The Chadanator" in baseball and it stuck with all of his friends and they still call him that! The reason he was dubbed this lovely title was because he could pummel the ball really hard and well for his size! He was taught well from a really good coach who understands being small! :) I can't believe that he is 10! Only about 8 more years and then he will be filling out papers for college and/or mission!
It is amazing to me how fast time can go by without you really noticing until one day you see how grown up your child is and wonder where the time has gone! I had all these dreams and visions for his future and one day I woke up to reality when he said he didn't want to play baseball or do this or do that, that he wanted to try karate or art or football and I thought "he is growing up...he has a mind of his own!" That is when I decided he needed more free reign to decide what he wants out of life. I am just here to guide, direct him, comfort him and hopefully be a good example to teach him that his choices and actions have consequences, good and bad. As the days go on and I realize how much time I don't have left with him I worry that I am not doing enough, but the only thing that keeps me from going insane with those thoughts is that Jesus Christ is the ultimate teacher and you can only do the best that you can at that moment and with what you have! I am not so sure that many of the great things in this child is in direct relation to my teaching him, but I do know that he is a great kid and I love him more than he will know until one day he is holding his first child in his hands and then he will say, just like Tyson and I did, "Wow...THIS is how much you can love a child! Now I know why my parents did and said what they did, it was out of love. And I am only scratching the surface at what God must feel about each of us!"
Until then I hope to have many more wonderful and funny memories with him! To my adorable first child that was the unfortunate or hopefully fortunate first a.k.a the guinea pig! Happy 10th!!!
