Summer Fun--Jesup

It has been hard for me to blog lately.

Of course that has nothing to do with the fact that I have a 3 month old.

And 4 other kids.

And an MBA seeking, full time working hubby!

So ALL that together has caused me to have to prioritize and although I would much rather be blogging, my busy kids and hubby came first along with the never-going-to-be-magazine-worthy-clutter free place I call home!

So you get the picture of my life and summer so far. Needless to say this is why I NEEDED to have a long stay with my dad and sis a few weeks ago which was GREAT! Here are the details of my lovely Georgia, but we here in the south pronounce it Joe- ja!!! Unless your beautiful southern accent was corrupted by a few years in the north, like mine! ;)
Jesup or Bust!
The drive down was something we were crossing our fingers would turn out well, but it turned out much better...it was GREAT! We were so proud of our brood (the DVD player and the movie Enchanted had a little bit to do with it) for being so good! And Laney slept most of the way...it was bliss, well as blissful as a trip in a car can be when you watch helplessly as your kid's crumbs fall on your newly cleaned floor, and you have to keep reminding yourself that it is your sanity or the floor, and hear the same blasted movie play over and over again only to have the songs ingrained in your mind for the next 2 days cause that is the only thing that is keeping them calm at the moment...ok so quietness is bliss! :)

We also found out later why Laney was so WONDERFUL in the car that day. She was sick with a cold that lasted for 3 days. Poor kid!

You would think that after traveling the same route every year for the past almost 12 years we would know our route better, but it was only a year or two ago that we noticed this neat little petting zoo thing (not sure exactly what to call this seeing as it is a part of the gas station we stopped at). There were ostriches and emus too, but they didn't really care a lot that we were there!
The kids love animals so much and begged for 15 min. after wards that we not only buy a farm, but all those animals too. We'll just let them keep dreamin'! :)

After we got down there Tys could only stay 2 days. He had a ton of things to get done for work and school and felt the pressures of deadlines so he needed to return home sooner then we had thought, but we had fun with him while we were together.

We swam, ate, played, walked, fed the fish, went fishing, rode the "Bad Boy" (golf cart) attempted some photo sessions with the kids and enjoyed the time together. I LOVE going on vacations with my family!

This is a little off the subject, but FYI to those family and friends who are interested...
My sister received her Masters Degree and got a job at Georgia Southern teaching English! YAY, Sissy!

Aaaaaand my hubby just wrapped up his 2nd semester and is HALFWAY DONE with his MBA Program!!! I can FINALLY see the light at the end of the tunnel!!!

Good girl for running away from home WITH your family, grin. I often think 'I' need to get away... when the truth is I want to get away WITH the 4 most important people in my life. We go to the beach in a few weeks and I almost cry just thinking about the time with my family away from daily 'to dos'

Hubby in school is a challenge, can't imagine how hard it must be for you since you have more kiddos than I did when we were in school, whew!! Bravo!

Congratulations to . . .
1) Your sister! Please tell her we are so very proud of her.
2) Tyson, half-way there; that's super. Kirk has been working on a second masters for over half of our marriage. I am soooooo ready for him to be done.
3) You! A drive to Joe-juh all on your own . . . you're tough stuff. :)

Yay! for Michelle. Just like Dana commented, your "scrappages" stood out to me and I love them. I am so glad you got to get away and have a little break.
