A Winner and a Ponytail

Photobucket

It looks like A-N-S-L-E-Y was the winner for spelling new baby's name. Its my fave way to spell it too. Thanks for all those who voted and commented. It makes it all the more fun!

The winner of our giveaway was commenter #12, which would have been me, so I decided to nix me and go for who would have been that number had I not commented. Drum roll please...Sara! You get to choose either a $10 gift card to Hobby Lobby, to Target or something from etsy that is no more than $10 (they don't do gift cards yet for the entire site)! Just let me know which one you want and I will drop it by at your house. Congrats!

I had posted on my facebook recently :
"Day two of Laney allowing me to do her hair...and it is in a CUTE ponytail! LOVE it! Now if the older two would let me do theirs once in awhile, without a fight that is. :)"

My sister really wanted a pic, so here they are.

One catch for doing Laney's hair is that I can NOT use a brush. She freaks when I get it out. We won't name the girls responsible for this kind of action due to their examples. So I use my fingers. Who knew that would be okay? And I think it helped having all the kids vocalize the fact that she is adorable because when it would fall out, at all, she would freak! Kinda funny if you ask me. I am thinking that I will have to have the kids do this when we start potty training. Its coming soon. *freak out* She brings her diapers and wipes to me and likes sitting on her potty chair even though she doesn't do anything in it yet. I am NOT ready.

So here she is. Miss Sassy in a ponytail! One day I am hoping to do some pigtails, but for now I will take what I can get.

The Winners of the Bandana Dress/Shirt are...

I decided to give away 3dresses since this was my first give away and I am excited about it (can you tell?)!!! And the lucky winners are...

Kg who said: "I voted for two as well. Impressed with your sewing, those are cute tops!"

Amy said : "Don't really have much use for the dress except maybe to gift it but it is sooo cute! You are such a talented lady. I did vote for the snips, snails, and piggytales! I love that but dirt and skirts was a close second."

Shannon said: "Sharon, I love Snips, Snails and Piggytails! That is what I voted for. I couldn't come up with anything I liked better than that."
To all the winners. Here are the dresses you can choose from. I have 2 of each. So please let me know which one you would like and I will get it to you.

Thanks to everyone for playing along and voting! I was originally going to do a revote if someone suggested another name to add to the list, but since there weren't any and the fact that there were 25 votes cast, YAY, I am going to say that "Snips, snails and piggytails" is the WINNER (it had 15 votes with 8 for "Dirt and Skirts")! Thank you all for participating!

So watch for a new blog that will be coming soon!

For those who really liked this dress, it is really easy to make. The link to the tutorial is here if you would like to make your own! I ♥ this blog! Tanya, who is the wonderful creator of this blog, has a lot of tutorials that are pretty easy and I wanted to pass it along to those who might be interested and to give credit where credit is due!

I ♥ learning and My First EVER Giveaway!

This Give Away is closed! Winners have been chosen!

I love to find fun things to sew, crochet or just plain do with my hands! I have now been sewing for 12 years! I had sewn a little in school for Home Ec. when I was in the 8th grade, but never much more than a pillow and let me tell ya, Satin with a lace overlay is one hard little booger to work with when it is your first project, so I don't recommend that if you want a peaceful life!

Anyways, shortly after my husband and I were married, my MIL taught me how to sew and read a pattern. Then after years of trial and error I was able to learn and do more! During this time I also learned to crochet and taught myself how to read those annoying shorthand directions so I could make more than just the basics!

Now I am learning the world of blogs! When I first started this blog I just quickly named it and thought "Ehhh...I can rename it later!"

But to what?

So, now that it is later, ok waaaay later.Try 2 years later, I am in want of my new name! So, this is where the give away and YOU come in!

First WHAT ON EARTH am I giving away? Glad you asked...

No, not the beautiful little gal, but the bandana dress/shirt that she is in. Scroll down to see a few more pics!

Little mama wasn't having anything to do with our photo session, but I still think she is CUTE!

As you can see...on some gals this will be a dress, due to height, but on the rest just a longer shirt. I wouldn't recommend this on anyone that is in anything bigger than maybe a size 8/10 (in girls)! ;)

So come out of the woodwork, or rather cyberspace, and enter to win a Bandana Dress/shirt from me!

Rules, rules...there has got to be rules:

1. You must leave one comment!
2. You have to vote for a new blog name in the upper right corner of this blog, submit a blog name idea or you can do both!

Then I will filter through your blog name ideas, decide which one(s) I really like and place them with the top 3 voted for on the right upper corner of this blog and make a final voting poll with them. So have fun! Look at past posts...get to know what we are like and get creative with the names!

Here are some of the names we like and why...

My not so crummey life~ Crummey was my maiden name (yes I have heard them all so shhh! ;)) and my life isn't so crummy! :)
La bonne vie~ It means "The Good Life" in French. Not that we have a perfect life, but it's still good!
Snips, snails and piggytails~because we have boys and girls and it sounds pretty snazzy!
Dirt & skirts~cause it totally catches a glimpse into my guys and gals as well as our life!
We have kids...now what~I think that explains it all! :)

The Give away will close on Monday, October 12, 2009 at noon! The winner will be announced later that night! Good luck and let the games begin!!!

Update and one Pay It Forward Gift done!

Well I had another doctor's visit today and I am 2 cm. dilated and I am SO excited (even thought I was a 3 with Heath by this point and a 4 with Bria, but who's comparing ;))! Of course I KNOW that doesn't mean I am going to go into labor anytime soon (one could only wish especially since my due date is on Saturday), but it sure is nice to know that my body is doing something! :) I hope that I can have this little munchkin soon, but for some reason my body seems to like holding onto the babies for a bit longer than some! I just have to keep remembering progress is happening and I can't be pregnant forever (at least I hope I am not the first in history to do
this! ;)

I have been busy finishing my to do list. It's nice to get things done, but with Tyson in school I think I am stressing myself out because I see all the things I would like to be doing and can't because I am MAJORLY slowing down and then I see the things I can actually do and with kids they are undone in 5 minutes...Grrr! So, poor Tys has had to pick up more slack while I take it easy more often.

On another note, I am going to leave you with pics of one of the Pay It Forward gifts I did and gave away! This is a family planner/scrapbook journal! I made one for myself and LOVED it and decided that would be one of the things I did for one of my pay it forward gals! 2 more gifts to go and then I am all paid up! :) Keep checking back to see what they are!

The black one is the one I gave away!

Below are images from the one I had made for myself!
