Both girls decided last year sometime to grow their hair out and donate it at the same time! The day finally came when they had at least 8 inches to donate! Boy were we all glad about that. Now we hope for quieter days when "Go get the brush" is said and that hair time will not only be more pleasant, but quicker too! Here is the story of our day at the Salon!
All loaded up and ready to go! We just dropped the boys off at one of our favorite people's houses and we were off for our "Girl's Day Out" adventure!
Bria had to have her hair evenly distributed into ponytails and then cut because there is so much of it!
Below are the before and afters of the gals hair!

After wards we picked the boys up and celebrated at our favorite fast food restaurant complete with chocolate shakes...Burger King! And of course they had to call their Granddaddy to let him know the big news!

awww I LOVE the new hairdo's! Such brave girls, at their age i would have CRIED haha. What a baby i am, and what cuties they are!!
Alyssa looks darling and so grown up! My computer did not show pictures of Bria :(
What a great way to teach them service to others.
Wishing you many happy hair moments to come! xoxoauntsusan
What a wonderful example of giving of ourselves to others! I love the girls' new look! Do you think that they would ever let their hair grow out again?
my 18 year old donated her hair this week as well. Her hair is honey gold and hung 4 inches past her but. It is so thick and lucious. I have often told her that Rapunzel had hair like hers. She is stepping out into the world as an adult and wanted a change. She now sports bangs and a layered look, but the locks still hang to her waist even after severing 13 inches.
love the locks, your girls did a nice thing
They look so cute!
Yay! No more screaming when the brush comes out. This is a great day for all 3 of you!
What big hearts they have! They look beautiful both ways! Are they doing it again?
For those who have asked, the girls are reluctant to donate their hair again because they hated brush time! Their hair would get pretty tangled and so we think we will wait until they are old enough to take care of their own hair! :) They are glad they did it this time around and I think they will want to do it again later on! Just need to give them some time to let the brushing memories fade away! :)
the girls look so different with the short hair!! But it is a wonderful thing they did!
Love their new hair styles. What a sweet and wonderful thing they did.
I love both their new do's! They look adorable! and that is neat that they wanted to do this at such a young age too! I donated to locks of love on the 2nd anniversary of my dad's death - when I decided to do it, Chris said, "But honey, I love your hair. Can't you donate bone marrow instead?" {{sigh}} men.....
Their new haircuts look great - very "grown-up"! Brava to them for their donations!
They look wonderful, and kuddos to both for doing such a wonderful thing!
