Ever since my two oldest girls were little, they have played well together, fought like cats and dogs and battled for the better position in the family. As they have become older, I see that they are in the competition spirit a bit more. In some ways that worried me for homeschooling them both together, but for the most part it has gone really well and hasn't been that big of a deal.
Recently though, they were fighting over table territory and who was going to finish their assignments the quickest (Shoot me now! They aren't EVEN teenagers yet). :) I talked to them about their little problem and it seemed, put BIG emphasis on "seemed", to be resolved better than I thought it would. Then after they went off for a break I found this note to Bria:
Apparently, Alyssa had to get the last word in and she didn't want me to hear it (or didn't want to hear me again)!
Then later that day they were back to joyfully playing together with their dolls. Sisters! AND I have to admit, I completely understand it. :)

I have to say I think I found the same note in my third grade classroom. Little girls...full of sugar - when they want to be!
That is a lovely photo of the sisters!
Sisters. They are the best. I love these sweet pictures. You're girls are beautiful.
So, so funny!!!
Are you homeschooling all the kids now?
Dawn,
Not all now, but possibly in the future. I am getting my feet wet slowly. :)
Precious sisters! I have boys, so I know brothers. I have a feeling brothers with brothers and quite similar to sisters with sisters!
Sharon, so true! Your girls are beautiful!
I completely understand where you're coming from on this one! It always surprises me that my girls can still be as competitive as they are and they're 5 years apart.
Your girlies are just adorable!!
that little note is so funny! Wondering how my two girls will be as they get older too!
Oh sisters! I have two that I grew up with, and we were exactly the same way! I love the little note! Totally adorable!
I have 6 sisters, and I must say although it wasn't always rosy growing up we're such great friends now! I wouldn't trade them for anything!
Such true statements about sisters! I love having a sister and am so glad my girls have each other. It just seems that sisters stay close when they're grownups and brothers not so much.
sisters are great, I love your blog layout. Kaye—the road goes ever ever on
Fantastic post! Oh so true!
Super cute photos! Sisters are the BEST. It's your first best friend and occasional enemy too. I love my sister and I couldn't imagine not having her in my life. I am so glad my daughters can experience that same relationship with each other. Watching them play together often reminds me of my sister and me as children.
So true! I like those quotes. I have two sisters and now we are great friends. I love them tremendously.
Unfortunately I resemble these remarks too well -- particularly the "getting the last word in." I love you sister and your gorgeous girls :-)
First, I love those quotes. I'm sending them to *my* sister now.
And, what a sneaky little girl to get in the last word that way. Love it.
